Ziran Xu is a PhD student in the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing at Hong Kong Baptist University. Her research explores the intersection of queer theory, ecofeminism and contemporary comics, with a broader interest in popular culture, gender studies and environmental humanities. Her current project extends her MA thesis, a comparative study of monstrous plant-women figures, into a diachronic study of an American comics character from a mythopoetic perspective.
