Funded by the Faculty of Arts Research Impact Fund, the Creative and Professional Writing Programme will hold an exhibition, In-visible Transformations : Ethnic Minorities in a Time of Crisis. This exhibition will showcase writing and artwork by ethnic minorities and our researchers made in response to the experiences during the covid-19 pandemic. The exhibition is the result of a year-long research project in which our team sought to understand the practical difficulties and emotional impacts of the pandemic on ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. The exhibition showcases expressions of community, resilience and triumph via mediums of visual art and literature, in response to our project’s aim to create a place for dialogue and mutual understanding. The exhibition includes street photography, Henna maps, handmade embroidery, mosaic tiles, and literary works.
The opening event will be held on Monday, 3 January 2022 at 17:00-18:00 in the Koo Ming Kown Exhibition Gallery. We have invited community participants to join us. Our research team members will also conduct a brief tour of the artworks.
