Ms. Radhika Vang Jensen

Radhika Vang Jensen is a PhD student in the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing at Hong Kong Baptist University (year 2023/24). Her research is broadly focusing on Indian Cinema, queer politics, and new queer expressions in contemporary fiction and non-fiction film in India.
Radhika was born in India, but grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark, from where she holds a Bachelor degree in Cultural Encounters and Social Sciences from Roskilde University, and a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen. Part of her education, Radhika went on exchange in Pondicherry, South India, to study Anthropology and Religion, and in Hong Kong at Hong Kong Baptist University.
Radhika’s research interests include feminist film theory, cultural studies, gender studies, world cinema, European cinema, and documentary filmmaking. Radhika herself has directed two short documentary films (“my name? Charlie” (2018) and “MELSAME” (2019), both circulating around topics of gender, sexuality, and minorities.
Radhika has previously worked as a writer, teacher, yoga teacher, research assistant, and photographer. Radhika can be reached through 23483237@life.hkbu.edu.hk
