Ms. Yuan Zhu (Jasmine)

Jasmine Yuan Zhu is currently a Ph.D. student at the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing, Hong Kong Baptist University. She is interested in how gender and sexuality intersect with post-socialist dynamics, including consumption, labour and body representation in China. Her current research focus is the platformization of the female bodies in digital China, and how women navigate their subjectivities under such precarious form of algorithmic labour. Her previous publication is a critique about the gendered portrayal of post-human characters in sci-fi genre films.
